J U N E / / T W E N T Y - S E V E N T H / / 2 0 1 6

So, it's the night before I depart. Equal parts excited, anxious

and exhausted. Everything has been checked, double-checked and

octuple-checked, fitted in both backpacks and ready to go.

Let's do this.

J U N E // N I N T H // 2 0 1 6

To start, this experience would not have been possible without the

support (financial and moral) of my parents, nor will they let me

forget that anytime soon. Or ever. Yeah, never: if you have met my

mom, you would understand. But this trip is thanks to them and

partly the USAC. The University Studies Abroad Consortium, located

on the University of Nevada's campus is probably the best study

abroad program in the country, and one of the many reasons I chose

to attend UNR. Over 50 cities in over 25 countries host USAC

students.

I knew that I wanted to go to Europe .... well, New Zealand but an

ecology program is not my cup of tea. So I picked Europe, I wanted

to stay in a major city for access to transportation but mainly I

wanted to go somewhere totally new. After weeks of deliberation and

soul-searching, and realizing that I had a Spanish requirement

to fulfill, I settled on Madrid.

Three weeks to go.
